Project Description
Marshfield Clinic Health System will use funding to support the construction and equipment purchases for a 97,800 square foot medical center located within a medically underserved community in Ladysmith, Wisconsin. The Ladysmith Medical Center will replace the outdated existing hospital building that requires significant physical improvements to meet Marshfield’s safety and care standards. The new hospital is needed to meet the demand of Rusk County’s growing health needs.
According to the Sponsor, the Project will include areas for the Critical Access Hospital, medical offices for both local physicians and visiting specialists, pharmacy and an optical retail outlet, conference and education centers, and a food service area. Further, the Project will include state-of-the-art technologies including 3D mammography and tele-stroke and bone density equipment. The new facility is anticipated to include the following amenities to serve its patient base:
- 11 all-purpose inpatient rooms
- 5 recovery rooms for same-day surgery
- 7 infusion rooms
- 2 operating rooms
- 2 trauma bays
- 5 treatment bays in the emergency wing
- 11 acute care beds
- 4 pre/post operation beds
- A procedure room for Endoscopy & minor procedures
- An urgent care center
